Benidoleig
Benidoleig is a small farming village with 783 inhabitants located at the foot of the Sierra de Seguili. It is a peaceful village with steep windy streets with views of the surrounding vines and almond and olive trees - the main economic activity of the village. The Calaveras (skulls) Cave is the attraction of the village. In Benidoleig there are several restaurants, bars and cafes.

Jalon Valley

Orba (5 mins drive from the villa)
Orba is a small village with 2200 inhabitants (although increasing) especially with foreign residents, mainly British and German people. It is a traditional village as the craft of pottery is still remaining there and now produces handbags. It is also located on a large fertile valley that grows mainly citrus fruit, which makes agriculture an important income source.

Beniarbeig is a rich and prosperous agricultural village and is mainly growing citrus fruits. Beniarbeig enjoys a privileged geographical position and its prosperous economy has ensured that it is one of the largest villages in the area (1,191 inhabitants). It is located next to the Girona River that flows between the province of Valencia and the Racons Ravine.

Jalon Valley (15 mins inland)
The Jalon Valley has some of the best scenery in Spain. There are magnificent mountains which surround the plains of olive trees, orange groves, vineyards, raisins and almonds. Peppered in the Jalon Valley are unspoilt villages including Alcalali, Jalon, Lliber and Parcent.

Denia (15 mins drive from the villa)
The town is situated at the foot of the lovely mountain Montgo between Valencia and Alicante. Denia is a small fishing village, known for its routes to the Balearic Islands - Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca etc and the narrow railway line along the coast to Alicante.

Las Marinas, north of the town, has sandy beaches that extend for more than 15 km and are ideal place to sunbath and swim. If you are into water sports Denia offers a first class Yacht Club in Denia New Marina.

Javea (20 mins drive from the villa)
Javea (Xabia) is situated in the bay between San Antonio and Cabo de la Nau. Javea has a lovely sandy beach(Arenal) and a more pebbly one towards the port. You can find good restaurants both in the port area and along the beach walk of Arenal. The old part of Javea is historic - typical Spanish.

Donkey Sanctuary (30 mins drive)
A lovely, quiet place to visit, high up in the mountains, above Jalon (Xalo), with a spectacular view over the valley. Children are allowed to ride and feed the donkeys if they want. The Donkey sanctuary is a lovely way to enjoy the Bernia mountains and help a fantastic project. Here you can support the work being done and enjoy a lunchtime feast surrounded by breathtaking scenery. All the proceeds from the lunch go to the donkey project.

Moraira (20 mins from the villa, south of Javea)
Moraira has grown from being a small fishing village to an attractive holiday and retirement town. Don't miss a little known beach area called El Portet. Its almost like a Caribbean bay, the water is turquoise, the road to it is winding, the hills are alive with pine trees. the waters are very calm and safe for children.

A supremely beautiful and interesting place to visit is Fuentes del Algar (Algar Waterfalls) a beautiful natural park inland from Altea. It is an enjoyable journey winding through the groves of nisperos. In a pretty, orchard-filled valley (from Callosa take the road to Tárberna and follow the signs) are the Fonts d'Algar, a beautiful cascade of waterfalls and natural swimming pools set among shady forest. Several excellent walking trails lead from here to the Sierra de Bernia.

Valencia (1 hour north)
One of the biggest and liveliest cities in Spain. Valencia is host for the big firework festival Fallas in March every year. The newly constructed area Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, the "City of Arts and Sciences", contains Europes biggest aquarium, the Hemisferic (IMAX theatre) and Science museum amongst other very interesting places to visit. In recent years, important international sports events like the America's Cup and the Formula 1 Grand Prix on a street circuit at the city's port have put Valencia more than ever on the world map. Don't miss to eat Spain's most famous dish Paella Valenciana where it was born!

Alicante (1 hour south)
Alicante is a stylish city, with its new harbour complex, clean beaches, outstanding museums, exceptional shops and buzzing nightlife. Here you can either relax along the stunning beaches or discover the great historical monuments the city has to offer. In contrast to other surrounding resorts like Benidorm, the city of Alicante differentiates itself as being the cultural capital of the Costa Blanca. Although Alicante has reinvented itself into a modern city with endless entertainment, it has not lost its Spanish roots. With its warm and friendly inhabitants, its traditional festivities lighting up the city all year round, and its fresh sea-food paella dish straight out of the deep blue Mediterranean Sea, the city of Alicante has the right balance for everyone.

Benidorm (25 mins from the villa)
If you visit Benidorm you must make a visit to Benidorm's casco antiguo - the old Benidorm city center. There you can find nice tapas bars and shops in narrow, picturesque alleys. Benidorm's two beaches, the playa de poniente and the playa de levante are about 5 km long in total. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing bathe under Benidorm's sun, you should go for the Playa de Levante. Benidorm also offers a range of different theme parks such as amusement park Terra Mitica, water park Aqualandia and a marine animal park called Mundomar.

The area around the villa provides many different tracks and trails both for the more advanced hiker and for those who prefer easier walks. You can choose from off tracks, dirt tracks or just walking along the paved roads which offer spectacular views of the surrounding area. Follow the white & yellow signs around the villa - more information can be found at the town hall in the village. There are also hiking trails and climbing tracks on the Montgo' mountain area just 15 minutes away. You can find more information about these tracks at the villa.

There is a tennis court above the villa by the pool bar. There are tennis competitions every Sunday morning for all residents and guests in the urbanisation.

Go Karting
There is a big Go kart track towards Oliva on the N332. You can choose from 3 different speed levels of cars and they also have a cafe'/pub area for those that just wants to come along to watch. Children over 6 years have their own track to race on.

Golf
There are over 20 golf courses in the area and Valencia region is a fantastic destination to practice golf all year around with its mild climate. Famous clubs such as El Saler, where The Seve Trophy competition is held, is amongst most famous and well kept golf courses in the area. The nearest golf course to the villa is La Sella.
